A Fun Birthday Card

Hello Friends!  It's been a real long week for me therefore a lack in a post from me this week.  I figured it would be do-able to do at least one or two posts a week since it's impossible for me to do a daily one :0  Anyway, today, I just wanted to share a fun birthday card I made for my GF Irene's birthday.  Got this fun stamp from Cute Stuff.
Here's a view of the whole card, used a sizzix die to cut out the card so it was pretty fast to put together once I colored the image.  It's been so long since I colored it kind of took me a while to finish!
The sentiment and punch by SU.
Hoping you all have had a nice week, it's almost Friday!! Thanks for stopping in today.  Gotta run for the bus!

Let the Sunshine begin!

Happy Wednesday!  I am so happy to share with you all that the sunflowers are finally starting to bloom!!  Yippee!
These flowers are the smaller sunflowers, the type that you put in floral arrangements.  These first crop of flowers was delivered to my mom this past weekend.  I'm so happy that they actually bloomed!

Also wanted to share that my heliconia plant has finally bloomed too!  I can't wait to see more flowers start to bloom.  That would make me happy to know that all of the hard work paid off.
The triple pikake's are also starting to bloom!
I found this pretty orchid tucked in a corner in the greenhouse that I'm cleaning.  It's amazing how the flower still managed to bloom even with so little care.
On to my card!  I created this card a couple of weeks ago.  I really wanted to build up a small stash of thank you cards for the people who have ordered SU online with me.  If you haven't received a card from me yet, be patient, I'm really trying to get my act together, promise!
the inside...
I'll be sharing one more thank you card soon.  I also have a few cards that I made with non-SU products.  Sometimes I get in the mood to do something with other stamps.
Thanks to all of you who still believe in me and come to support me with your visit and your comments.  I believe that it's the key to motivating me to slowly create.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Purrrfect friend

I hope you all had a nice weekend.  Lots of yard work this weekend and house cleaning.  Took Dad to get his physical and TB tests done last Friday.  He'll have to get the second step of the TB test in a week.  It will be a good two weeks before he can actually start the day care.
Today's card is not a card using SU supplies except for the rhinestones.   I just had to share a special card I made for a friend that I have never met in person.  Roberta is an island girl and a fellow cat lover.  She even has her own king of the house.  We've been sharing lots of cat stories and found out that we have lots in common, mainly a house cat with similar personalities.
I wanted to make Roberta a special card and I knew that it had to have a cat on it - decisions, decisions!  I settled on this box card.  I used a box and turned it into a card!  I added acetate to the box window and at first was going to make it a shaker card.  After looking at it real good, I decided that the beads would start falling out, so decided to fill the card with flowers instead.  What do you think?
Here's a closer look at the inside...
Well, here are more yard photos.  Sorry if you are tired of seeing them, but I have alot to share. I was actually asked just how big my yard was, so here it is!
These photos are different angles of the same greenhouse.  I actually spent a few days after work last week really cleaning it up.  I'm almost cleaning this house to satisfaction.

There were so much weeds and unwanted green waste that I filled up the green trash can already!  Hopefully after all of this yard work is done, I'll be able to maintain it and not have to be a backyard slave! LOL!  Maybe my craft mojo will come back and I'll have some time to finally craft.
Thanks for stopping by today.  Hoping I can start another post for this week.  Trying to get back on a schedule of some sort.  Hugs!

Two Posts in one week! Another card and more garden photos

Can you believe that I'm back with another post this week? Thank goodness for pre-posting!  Here is another card that I made a couple of weeks ago.  Like I said it's been a struggle to create anything lately.  I'm happy with the way this card turned out after adding the flower to it.
Here is the inside of the card.  I love this set called You're a Gem.  Cute sentiments in this set.  This set is in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Products in this catalog are available through the end of this month!
Here are more photos of our yard.   A long time ago, our yard used to be a plant nursery.  I spent my childhood counting orchids for flower leis and going with Mom to deliver cut flowers and plants to florists and even the airport lei stands.  Something that I never appreciated when I was young.  I can appreciate now that my parents did this to earn extra money to support us.  This photo is of the new seedlings that Dad and I planted in the back yard.  He wanted so badly to plant manoa lettuce, shanghai cabbage and merigold flowers.  They are doing pretty good and soon we will be transplanting them to foam coffee cups.
The following photos are just to show you how huge our yard is.  That's why it's taking me like forever to clean up.  Anyone want to come over to clean?  (Just kidding)
I was able to clean up the Anthurium house, finally.  I'm excited for the flowers to get healthy and start blooming again.  Having flowers from our back yard to take to Mom will definately save some money.
This poor greenhouse was FULL of weeds and wild ferns growing on the ground.  I yanked out soooo many weeds it was unbelievable.  I think the plants are smiling now that they can breathe.
Here is another area of the yard.  Once upon a time, we had about 100 rose plants in this vacant area.
That's it for today!  Thanks so much for your visit, your comment and your love and support.  It's so hard to stop blogging and crafting when you have so many people who give so much encouragement.  Thank you so much.
On a happy note - I took Dad to check out a senior day care center the other day and he seemed to like the idea.  He was able to chat with a couple of senior ladies there and had a grand time telling them stories.  He looked so alive and happy!  I can't wait to get all the paperwork done so that he can start.
Til next time!  Hopefully I will be able to post in a couple of days.  I want to share more of my yard with you and of course another card!  Hugs to you all!

Garden Tour and a card

It's been a while since I've been in touch with blogland and with all of you, my friends.  Let's just say that I've been on a different path, one that is necessary and one that I have no regrets.  I miss my crafting, but learning something new is always good right?  I've been spending most of my early evenings after work and weekends right here in the yard tending to the "jungle" that has been neglected for way too long.  I know in the end, I will be very happy with the results and won't even remember that I had months of achy muscles, LOL!
Remember the red gingers that I planted over a year ago for mom?  Here's what it looks like today.  It's really grown into a huge bush which needs to be trimmed down some.  The only thing that bothers me about this healthy bunch of plants is that it didn't bear any flowers yet!
I had a first crop of flowers from a smaller bunch of red gingers in another area in the yard.  It made me so happy to see the flowers blooming!  I was able to gather a small bouquet that we took to mom.  I'm sure she was smiling and was proud of me.
Here is what the smaller crop of red gingers looked like with the blooming flowers.
Just wanted to share this beautiful plant in one our our green houses.  Mom used to love this plant when it bloomed, so just had to share this one too.
I found this beautiful orchid growing in the corner of another green house.  Amazing since I don't remember watering or caring for this plant.
Here is my bouquet of red gingers.  Not bad for an amateur gardener eh?
I just had to have my sister take my photo with the first crop.

I've been struggling with my creating lately.  Must be because I've been putting all of my energy into the garden.  I did manage to make this card.  I really liked the way it turned out.  I've been wanting to use this die for some time now.  This die is called Lattice Trellis.   The sentiment is one of my favorite ones.
Here is the inside of the card...
Believe it or not, I have a few more creations to share.  I will try to pre-post them for the week.  Thank you for visiting me today.  I appreciate that so many of you have kept in touch with me via email to see if I was doing okay.  Also was touched to get some visits at the house as well.
I still haven't decided on if and/or when I will do classes again.  I've been so busy with caring for Dad and doing yard work that I am kind of grateful that I put the classes on hold.  It's just one thing less to worry about.  I do hope that when I decided to start up again that I'll still have people interested in coming. LOL!  The other thing is that I'm not sure if I will continue to be a SU demonstrator.  Toying with the idea of being a non-demonstrator so that I can dabble in products from other companies besides SU.  I will always still use the SU products, but being a demonstrator requires a whole different commitment.  Anyway, just blabbing and wanted to let you all know my thoughts.  Til next time...
