The Nicest Thing

Hello Friends!  I'm still around, just learning how to lessen my load these days.  It's so hard to make changes especially when you're so set in your ways (schedule)!
I wanted to share with you a cute card I made using the cute bunny from the stamp set The Nicest Thing (I think that's the name of it!).
Remember back in February I told you that I planted 500+ sunflowers?  This is what it looked like a couple of weeks after.  The sprout pretty quick!
Here's what it looks like today.  I can't wait for the flowers to bloom.  I planted more in the front yard by the street so people can enjoy the flowers when they bloom.
That's it for today! Hopefully I will have some time to share more with you.  Tomorrow is a State holiday and I will be home.  Have a great day and thanks so much for checking in with me

Mini Cards and Envelopes - The Bonus!

This project was thought up so last minute, but I love the way it turned out.  I made a cute mini cards and envelope set.  The box is the Sizzix Box #2 XL die.  I used my scallop border punch on the flap and didn't crease it to close.  Instead, I lined it with a piece of DP from the Greenhouse Gala pack.  Don't you love the cute bunny?  It's from a set called "So Cute" and I got it FREE!  You can select this set and a whole bunch of other stamp sets as an alternate freebie from the Sale-a-Bration promotion.  You must use the item numbers that's listed in the back of the SAB brochure in order to get the item for free.
Here's what the cards and envelopes look like.  BTW, the ribbon is old olive taffeta ribbon.  I love the softness of the ribbon.

I hope you don't mind my sharing photos of my favorite feline subject.  These shots were taken by my niece Jen using her new camera during the holidays.

Thanks for sharing a bit of your day with me.  I truly am grateful to all of you who stop by to visit and for leaving me comments.  I love reading the comments as they brighten my day.
Finally, I wanted to announce that I will not be holding a class during the month of April and maybe May.  We'll see when I'm able to get back on the bandwagon again.  I'm feeling a bit burnt out especially since Dad is needing more attention and help.  I am still grateful that he is still mobile and can do quite a bit by himself.  He needs a little more supervision though and I don't mind.  I hope those who come regularly to my classes understand that this is something that I need to do for now.  I used to be able to juggle everything and not feel so tired, but gee, getting older and adding more responsibilities on my plate has left me exhausted.  By the end of the week, my body is all tense and thank goodness I get a massage every Sunday - yay!  Look forward to getting beaten up by my massage therapist, Kim.  She is the best!  If any of you like the deep massage treatment, email me for Kim's number.  You will love it!  Thanks again to all of you for all of the love and support.  Truly, I am blessed to be a part of your life and thanks for letting me ramble on....hopefully I will find time to do a couple more posts this week!  Hugs to you all!

March Class Part 2 - The Cards

Here are the cards we made at this weekend's class.  I cannot take credit for these beautiful cards because they are all CASED cards.  This card uses the stamps from the BLISS stamp set which you can get for FREE with a qualifying order during sale-a-bration (which ends on March 31).
Here's the inside of the card.  This sentiment is from a level 1 hostess set.
Love this card!  I never paid attention to the beautiful flowers which is a cut and emboss die called Cherry Blossom.
The inside
Got this idea right from the idea book and catalog, except I added my own flavor to it.
The inside of the card.  This sentiment and the bird is also from the Bliss stamp set.

Had to share a couple pics of the princess.  She sleeps on this chair only at night.  Dad left his pillows all over the chair, but someone figured out a most comfortable place for herself.
This is what I wish I could be doing right now LOL! Except that I must get off of the computer and run to the bus stop!  Thanks for stopping by today!  I can't wait to share the exciting bonus project with you!

March Class projects part 1

Did everyone have a rough week like me last week?  Not just the tsunami warning and evacuation but must a long rough week!  I'm glad I survived the week and weekend.  It's a new week, and a short one for me, it's our last furlough Friday!  I remember being sad when they announced that we would have to take furlough days, that was almost 2 years ago, can you believe that?  Now with the furlough days coming to a close for my department, I'm feeling kind of sad as I looked forward to having an extra day which I mostly used for doctor appointments for Dad.  Anyhoo, we had two days of crafting fun!  Here's the first 2 projects - our Easter basket with punch art bunny.  I used acetate for the handles and added ribbon to the middle.  This cute ribbon is part of the sale-a-bration freebies!
Here's a side view of the basket.  The basket is the fancy favor XL sizzix die.  I used rhinestone brads to hold the handles on the basket.
We made a cute carrot using the petal cone die.  I can't believe how versatile this die is!  I've made so many different projects using this die!  The cute flower buttons is also a SAB freebie that actually comes with the ribbon as a set!
Gotta get running to the bus right now, but I will be back with the rest of the projects and the cute bonus we made!  Happy Monday and thanks for your visit today!

The Green Pig King

Thanks for the comments on my Angry Bird.  Seems like that game is so popular, everyone knows about those crazy birds!  Today, I made some time to put the green pig king together using my SU punches.  I used a circle punch for the head, small oval punch for the ears, 3/4" and 1/4" circle punches for the nose, 1/2" and 1/8" punches for the eyes and hand cut the eyebrows.  I used part of the small oval punch for the mouth (black) and 1/4" circles for the teeth.  I hand cut the crown.  This was a fun card to make.  I like the noise that the pigs make, I guess that nom, nom, nom is an eating sound?  I dug out my quickutz dies to cut out the words and used a thought bubble punch.
Here's a closer look...
Although making these punched art characters was sort of fun, I think I'm done creating these characters for now since it was so time consuming!
Yesterday was such a long day for me and Dad.  Dad had to take another echocardiogram yesterday, too many excusions wipe him out!  I guess in some ways it's something for him to do instead of staying indoors and watching TV all day long.
It must have been a long day for Mochiko too.  This is one of her favorite sleeping spots.  She thinks she owns all of the furniture!  Funny thing is that she only sleeps on this chair in the evening.   You won't catch her on it during the day, have no idea why.
Cats have the funniest sleeping positions. I wonder if she was sleeping with her eye open, or if she was peeking at me?
Happy Aloha Friday to all of you!  Hope I can get things done today.  Class this weekend, so I will see those who signed up.  I will be posting the projects next week for you all to see what we made.
By the way, Sale-a-Bration is still going on til March 31st.  You still have time to place an order to get your FREE SAB merchandise!
Thanks for stopping by today and happy weekend!

Angry Bird

Any Angry Bird fans out there?  This game is addicting but fun!  After watching a video online where this Dad made a Angry Bird cake for his 6 year old son, I thought, why not make it out of paper??  My bird was created using mostly SU punches and was alot of fun to make.  What do you think?
Here's a close up of my Angry Bird.
Punches I used 2" circle punch for the body in real red and 1/4 of a circle for the vanilla part, you can use any size circle.  Small hearts for wings in real red, 1/2", 1/4" and 1/8" circles for the eyes and hearts for the beak (I used 2 hearts and punched out from the heart to heart XL punch by SU.  I used a small pink heart for the bird's tongue, sorry I didn't take a photo of it.  The feathers on the top of the head is the word window punch (2 of them) and I hand cut the eyebrows.  I think the photo corner would work well too.  I'll see if I can get a photo of all of the punched pieces so you can make your own Angry Bird - LOL!  I'm trying the green pig next!  I have the pieces punched out, just gotta assemble.
I'm so glad that today is my Friday, since we have a furlough tomorrow.  I've been so busy-crazy lately, we had a scare with Dad the other night and had to take him to the after hour care, just to be safe.  Thank goodness everything is okay.  Too much going on has really made me exhausted!  I hope I can sleep in for a bit tomorrow since it will be a busy day but so glad that I'll be off from work.  We're looking into renovating the bathroom to accommodate Dad better and I have lots of housework to catch up on.  Classes this weekend, which I'm excited to see more people sign up.  I'm thinking of switching gears soon and may be venturing into a new episode on the craft side.  Stay tuned for more soon.  Thanks for your visit today!

The Rest of the Calendar

Hello Friends!  Thank you all so much for your extra love and support that you have shown to me from my last post.  I feel like such a tattle tale talking about my Dad.  I appreciate all of your positive comments and suggestions and I will take them to heart.
Well, here is the rest of that notable 5 1/2" X 6 1/2" digital calendar I created using My Digital Studio by SU.  It's basically a drag and drop kind of deal with the option of changing the background papers and adding embellishments if you choose to.  Otherwise, drag and drop your photos in and you are good to go.  I included one of the calendar pages so you know what it looks like (this is for you Joy!)  You can add little symbols on the calendar to mark your calendars for birthdays or special days.

It's nice to have a page with multiple spaces for more than one photo.

Thanks for peeking in and for looking at my crazy kitty photos.  I really believe that she loves to be photographed and we have literally hundreds (maybe thousands) of photos of her.
I really want to have some kind of session to show you how to use this digital program, so I will figure out how to do this and will report back at that time.  These calendars make great gifts too!  I'm hoping to send this to get this printed soon so I can use it before the year is up!
Thanks to those who signed up for the upcoming classes this weekend.  I have a couple more kits left if anyone is interested.  Send me an email to reserve your kit!

Desk top calendar

Did you all have a nice Girl's Day?  I didn't do anything special.  It's Friday! almost the weekend.  I can't believe that after March, our furlough Fridays will be no more.  I kind of got used to some four day work weeks!  But getting the pay back to normal sounds pretty good too!
Today, I'm sharing a cute project with you.  I'm having so much fun creating with My Digital Studio!  I finally found out how to use my Notable Desk Top calendar digital stuff that I bought and downloaded, or at least I thought I downloaded and was good to go.  I was getting a bit frustrated that I couldn't find it anywhere in My Digital Studio so I had to call SU's customer service.  What I was doing wrong was not installing it after downloading it - what a big DUH! for me.  Now that it's installed, I couldn't wait to play with it.  This calendar size is 5 1/2" X 6 1/2" and I couldn't wait to create a desk calendar of my favorite feline!  What a perfect subject since I have hundred's of photos of my fur baby.
Here is the front cover and the month of March.  I love how it's super easy to just drop the photos into the calendar.  I changed the DSP on this front cover and used the Celebrate DSP, so cheery!  Don't you love this mug shot?  I disturbed her while she was napping on Grandpa's bed...
I didn't change the background paper on this page, so this is the design that comes in the Notable Desk calendar digital kit.  Cats love to sleep and Mochiko is no exception!
I'll be sharing more calendar pages soon.  I'm trying to get back on track in my posting, but lately, I've been exhausted with just daily life stuff that I have no energy to do anything!  It kind of bums me out that I can't even find any energy to create anything, even simple stuff and posting is so out of the question at that point, ha!  Sorry to be rambling about the happenings in my life, I'm not complaining, but just trying to share with you why the lack of posts and sharing lately.  Do you ever feel that way?  Part of why I feel this way is because my Dad is needing more assistance in the every day things and I want to be there for him.  It's so sad to watch parents grow old and rely on you to do even the simple things.  But it must be so frustrating for them to not be able to remember things, so frustrated that sometimes say things that hurt your feelings and being the sensitive person that I am, it sort of takes a toll on me ya know?  Okay friends, thanks for letting me vent a little about my sweet dear Dad.  He really is a sweetheart, and I know he is so frustrated that he has to depend on me so much.  Love you Dad! I really do...
I want to thank you, my friends, for all of your love and support.  I really do get by with a little help from my friends.  Hope to be back soon to share more calendar pages and hopefully, I'll find some creativity just waiting to come to my craft table! LOL!

March class sneak peek is here!

Hey everyone!  Happy Girl's Day!  I'm finally back and it's sneak peek time!  Boy, it sure took me a while to figure out what kind of projects I wanted to feature in this month's class, but since Easter is coming up, I thought we do a couple of Easter projects and some Spring time cards.  Here's just a few of the projects I'm showing you today, what do you think?
The classes will be held on Saturday, March 12 and Sunday, March 13 from 1:00 p.m. at my home.  Please send me an email to RSVP.  Seats are reserved on a first come, first served basis.  The price of the class kits remain the same.  You won't want to miss out on this month's fun projects so RSVP today!  If possible, please RSVP no later than Monday, March 7 as I will need to cut and assemble all of the kits as soon as I know how many people will be attending.  I look forward to seeing you!  Thanks for stopping in today!
