Cricut Calendar - more pages!

Here are four more months of the calendar that I made using my cricut machine.  These were really fun months to create!  On the Create-a-Critter cartridge, there are so many cute and fun critters to make, I had a hard time deciding what to cut for the month of May, but I finally decided on the cute butterfly and flowers.  I finally put my huge shell border punch to use.  I can't believe that I bought so many border punches and never used them, kind of embarrassing that I have an addiction to keep buying all of these craft supplies and then hoard them - LOL!

These summer months were alot of fun to create.  Here's what I came up for June.  I originally just cut out the turtle, but it looked kind of plain, so I added the cute dragonfly to fill in the space.
The only sad thing I discovered with the 3M craft paper is that they didn't come in any shades of gray!  So I had to cut the seal out using regular cardstock.  The clouds are scallop oval punches by SU.  Don't you love this border punch?  First time I'm using this punch too!The DP that I used on this page is from Cute Stuff.  I thought it was perfect for this page, don't you?
I have to admit that this next page is my favorite.  Not because it's my month, but I just love Mr. Crab and the sandcastle.  The sea grass adds to this page too.  I used SU's scallop border punch and I love the shade of this DP.
I'll be posting the last four calendar pages tomorrow!  Thanks so much for stopping in to see my project.  I had so much fun putting this together!

Create a Calendar using 3M craft paper and my cricut

I've been wanting to create some kind of calendar and I finally made one.  I know that the new year already started, but I still really wanted to create one.  I wanted to use my cricut machine and my favorite cartridge, Create-a-Critter to make this calendar.  Another item that I really wanted to use was the 3M self-adhesive craft paper (love this paper!) because I know with all of the layering that I'm going to do, this paper will save me alot of time.  If you've never tried this paper before, you are missing out on a fabulous product.  FYI, if you are interested in getting some of this fab paper, watch for the February ad for Fisher Hawaii.  I believe that it will be on sale :)  Time to stock up on the other colors I need!
This post will be showing you the first 4 months of the calendar.  I will be posting the other 8 pages in 2 posts following this one.
Isn't this penguin cute?  I used the cricut to cut out the penguin and the igloo.  The snowflake is a SU punch and so is the circle in the back of it.  For my calendar, I was able to finally use all of the Martha Stewart border punches that I bought (and never used!).  I used a strip of Doodlebug glitter paper for the "ice" at the bottom of the page and my "snow" are pearls by SU.
Here's a close up of the snow and the snowflake.
One of my favorite critters is this cute ladybug, perfect for Valentine's Day!  I used a swirl punch (EK) and the small heart punch (SU).  The scallop heart and heart punches are by Marvy (got them on sale at Fisher Hawaii this month).
Another of my favorite critters is this owl.   Another fun martha stewart border punch!
Isn't this a fun Easter page?  I love this cute bunny.  At the time I created this page, I didn't have a small oval punch for the eggs, so the basket is empty!
I'll have the next four months to show you, hopefully tomorrow!  Thanks for your visit today!

Holiday Projects

Looking through my photo files, I found a few holiday projects that I made and think that I didn't post them.  Maybe I posted this one, but what the heck, it's so cute, I'll post it again.  Besides, the holidays are over now so who cares, right?  Made these cute ornaments using chipboard and my SU punches.
I made these cute treat bags for my favorite credit union friends.  These treat bags were offered by SU and got them all on sale!  I stuffed them with homemade holiday goodies.
At my downline holiday luncheon, we made this cute Santa basket made with the fancy favor die.  This clever idea came from Lisa Young.  You gotta go check out her blog.  She had so many awesome holiday ideas!!  To get instructions to make this and more fun holiday baskets, click HERE
I think this will be it for holiday stuff.  Gotta move on to the current holiday!  Thanks for bearing with me and thanks for stopping by!

Cheeky Christmas photo album

A while ago, I bought a bunch of these photo albums thinking that I was going to make these for a craft fair or something.  I'm beginning to think that I am the Queen of Grand Plans!  Anyway, one of my co-workers daughters had a birthday over the holidays, so I thought it was a perfect gift to give one of these photo albums.  I decorated it with this Cheeky Christmas image.  I thought it was such a cute image!  Used SU striped ribbon and a stick pin that I made with my pretties kit.  All cardstock and DSP by SU.
I added dazzling diamonds to her hat and dress.
Thanks for spending a few minutes with me today!

Scrapping Past Holiday Cards

It's been a few years since I've scrapped my past holiday cards that I received.  It kind of feels like a scrapbooking catch up year since I'm feeling in the mood to scrap!  As I took down the holiday cards from 2009 Christmas and put up 2010 Christmas, I had the urge to get them in scrapbook format.  Here are a few of the pages that I completed.  I'm so happy to have put them in my scrapbook.  Now if only I can find the time to do the years that I put away in envelopes!

The pages were very quick to put together as I used a retired scrapbook kit from SU.  How many of you put your holiday cards in a scrapbook?  They are really fun to look at as the years go by.
Thanks for coming by today!
I'll be sharing with you a really cute and fun calendar I put together using my Cricut Create-a-Critter cartridge and 3M craft paper.

I totally forgot to post some photos of some sweet holiday gifts that I received from friends.  I kind of forgot to take photos of a bunch more, so I apologize for that.  I do want to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you who surprised me with such kind gifts this holiday season.  Here are a few I managed to take photos of before that holiday rush!
Got the cutest coffee cup from Lori and Charlene...thank you, I love it!  Isn't this mouse the cutest?
Who doesn't love starbucks?  Even if you don't drink coffee, there are alot of other yummies there!
Cute felt Santa with a cute clear stamp set and what else, a SB giftcard!  Thanks Kelly!
Hehe, another SB giftcard!  I'm in heaven, you guys know me so well!  Thanks Joni!
Now here's a real late thank you.  Got this sweet tin of candy from Denise.  Thank you so much!  You always think of the sweetest little gifts.

OMG, I was spoiled by Brenda.  Thanks Brenda! I love my calendar and hot cocoa.  This box is so cute!

Last, but not least, this cute gift from Kris.  Such a clever gift.  I love the whisk and the candies too!  Thanks for all of the goodies!  Such a cute image.

Thank you all soooo much!  Thanks to all of you for your thoughtfulness.  I really need to get on the ball early this year so I can have my gifts ready to give too!  Thanks for sharing a part of your day with me!

Mochiko's 5 minutes of fame

okay, maybe more like 10 or 15 minutes?  Just wanted to share some shots of her that I collected in my photo files over the last month.  We take tons of photos of this spoiled kitty, but she really does her job, being cute!

She loves to sleep in Dad's room.  We say that she just lets him sleep there night time!
These last photos is a series I took while wrapping gifts.  She just had to sit in this skinny box.  I had to take shots of her at all angles.  Cats are so silly, always wanting to squeeze in these tight spots.  I think they must feel secure.  I think she is just oozing out of the box!  Too funny!

Thanks for letting Mochiko have her minutes of fame!  Back to craft posts!

Sock Monkey Birthday Card

My neighbor's baby is turning one years old and although we won't be able to attend the party, I needed to make a card for him.  It's been a while since I did some serious crafting and kind of needed to get back into the swing of things.  Since I love the Sock Monkey, I decided to go with that as my focus.  I used some buttons that have since retired (called Candy Cane) and some circles from the Celebrations Quick Accents kit #118708.  These quick accents are indeed quick!  They are peel and stick cardstock stickers. This accent kit matches with the Celebrations DSP #117164.  This DSP is such a fun one, perfect for making scrapbooks or stuff for kids.
Happy Birthday sentiment is from one of my favorite sentiment sets called Teeny Tiny Wishes #115370 wood only.  Punched that out with my word window punch and added a rhinestone.  To color your rhinestones, I use sharpie markers, they work great!
Here is the inside.  The sentiment is from Word Play #120308 wood, #120651 cling.  I added a star as my accent.  I used the small and large star punches to make this framed star.
Cardstock I used - cherry cobbler and old olive.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit today.  I'm slowly getting back into the groove.  Taking care of Dad has moved up on my priority list lately.  He's needing more assistance and has recently been going for alot of tests for various issues.  I try to find some leftover energy to craft, seems to be my therapy,
The weather here has been cold, rainy and very windy!  Seems like some kind of a storm blowing over the islands.  If you are an island girl, please stay safe!
In the days to come, I will be posting some things that I created over the holidays.  In looking at my photo files, I noticed that I didn't get to share some things from the holidays.

Birthday Card

I bought this stamp set called Engraved Greetings (#117116 wood only) a while ago with grand plans, but those plans went no where! LOL!  I was in need of a birthday card for my friend and DL Janis.  Janis celebrated her birthday back in December and I'm so sorry to be so late in making this card!
You know how it is that sometimes things happen for a reason right? Well, I think the reason why I never used this stamp set is because I needed to wait for this new DSP that is featured in our Occasions Mini Catalog.  This paper pack is called Springtime Vintage #121782.  I think it matches perfect!
Remember the cone  I posted last week?  When you cut out the cone, you also cut out this ribbon and flaps for the petals.  I used one of the ribbons underneath the sentiment here.  I loved the way this card turned out!  Added a couple of rhinestones to the sides of the ribbon.  What do you think?
Here is the inside of the card.  The sentiment is from Everything Nice #113818 wood only.  The cupcake is from the Sock Monkey set #111550.
Sorry for the wierd shadow.  As I was editing my photo, I deleted the wrong one, so I was stuck with this shot.
Thanks for peeking in today!  Come back to see a cute birthday card for a one year old boy.

Sweet Bonus Project

As with all of my classes, I try to include a little fun bonus project.  This month, I decided to make this sweet Petal Cone (#121810), our new Bigz die.  This die takes one 8 1/2" X 11 paper, cut in half.  I used a different color for the scallop flaps.  The image I used is from the SAB set called Punch Bunch #121847 wood, #123211 cling.  Sale-a-bration starts on January 25th!  I can't wait for you all to start collecting your free stamps and other merchandise!

I used some Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon (one of my faves!) #109067 to tie up the petals closed.  Also used the jumbo eyelets and added a pearl in the center of the flower in the image.
If you ordered a kit, they are all done and ready to be mailed!  Please refer to these last few blog posts to assemble your kit and feel free to email me with any questions.
Thanks for your visit today!  I will be sharing 2 fun birthday cards in the days to come.

3X3 Acetate Purse with cards and envelopes

Thanks for coming by today!  More projects from our first class of the year.  I wanted to make some cute 3X3 cards but got stuck on what to put the in.  In searching around my craft room, I found a whole bunch of these cute acetate square boxes leftover from my 50 tag class last year.  It worked out perfect and I love the finished results.  This cute purse holds 4 cards and 4 envelopes.

Here's a close up of how I closed the purse.  I punched out a tab punch and used velcro circles...it worked perfect!
Here are the cards...the sentiment is from a new set called XOXO.  This set is available in the new Occasions Mini Catalog.  I used the new seam binding (ribbon) in cherry cobbler.
This card features our heart punch, Victorian Lace and pearls.  Simple and sweet card.
This card features an sentiment from another set found in the Occasions Mini Catalog called Valentine Defined.  I used the modern label punch and 2 silver mini brads.
This cute message bubble with heart also came from the Valentine Defined stamp set (#121941 wood, #123057 cling).  I punched it out using the scallop square punch.  Love the row of bling!  Had tons leftover from our previous classes!
For the envelopes, I used the sentiment LOVE from the XOXO set (#121909 wood, #121973 cling).  I punched it out using the 1 1/4" circle punch, followed by a regal rose circle using the 1 3/8" circle punch and finally, the scallop circle punch.  This was attached to the back flap of the mini envelopes.
Here's a photo of the front and back of the envie.  I stamped the cute heart with an "XO" on it (from the XOXO set).
I'll be posting the bonus project tomorrow.  Sorry for the delay in getting all of these projects posted!  I've been busy taking my Dad for a bunch of tests so it's been difficult getting on the computer after a long day of  taking care of Dad.  Thanks for sticking with me!
