My Dear Kind & Wonderful Friend

Hello Friends!  Almost the end of the week.  We started the renovation of our bathroom this week and boy, it's always crazy whenever you do any kind of renovation!  Being that we only have one bathroom was kind of crazy.  Dad and I have been sleeping over my sister's house.  It's really hard living out of bags, but it's only temporary.  Hopefully, it won't take more than a week and a half.
Today, I am sharing a birthday card I made for my BFF Wini who celebrated her birthday in May.  I know it's July already, but I just had no mojo to create a special card for her.  I always loved this sentiment "My Dear Kind & Wonderful Friend" because that is just what she means to me.  I used my stampin write markers to color in the sentiment so I could get two colors instead of just one.  I used the huffing technique on this one.  I used the new DSP called Beyond the Garden.  Cardstock colors: Old Olive and Pacific Point.  Also used my new favorite ribbon, 1/2" scallop dots ribbon in chocolate chip.  The pearls added a nice touch to complete the card.  I hope she likes it!
Here are a couple of photos from the renovation.  I've been taking photos every day so we can see the process.  Here are 2 before the renovation and 2 after the demolition photos.

Poor Mochiko is so scared with all the strange people coming in and out of the house and all of the loud noise, but she found a perfect hiding place - in the farthest corner under Nolan's bed.  Whenever I check up on her, she's fast asleep.  She is so excited to be able to come out when everyone leaves.  The plumbing is all done, the electricians finished today and the carpenter is finishing up the walls and ceiling.  Cabinet installs tomorrow and then painting.  I know it will be all worth it when it's done.  I hope you are all having a nice week so far, one more day before the weekend!  I'll have my card and tag to show you that I made for the C.A.T.S. (card and tag swap) that Joy hosts.  This month, our theme was red, white and blue.  I was really happy with my card and tag.  I won't be able to show it just yet, until I send it to my partner because I want her to be surprised.
Thanks for your visit today!

Hello, Hello, Hello

I finally got to use this stamp set called Happy Greetings #123311 wood, #123313 cling.  This set is from the Summer Mini catalog and I've been sitting on it for over a month!  Do you think that was long enough?  I love sentiment stamp sets - you never can have enough sentiments, right?  I used the cute owl from the Fox and Friends stamp set #117020 wood, #118565 cling and my decorative label punch #120907 and the scallop circle punch #119854 and also a new border punch called Lace Ribbon Border #122362, I love this new punch!  Designer paper is from the Summer Mini called Beyond the Garden #122342.  Cardstock used: Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip, Pacific Point.
Here's the inside of the card.  This sentiment is also from Happy Greetings.
More sunflowers on the way!  Nolan helped me build this flower bed and plant the seeds.  There's a whole bunch of plants missing thanks to the slugs and snails (boo hoo!)  I got smart and sprinkled snail and slug bait all around.
Funny sleeping position.  A mocha box in a soda box.  She made herself fit in the small mocha box.  Doesn't look too comfortable, but she slept like that for hours!
Thanks so much for your visit with me today.  It's finally the weekend, yay! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

For Sweet Baby Elijah

My GF Kristen's baby, Elijah, just turned one.  Happy Birthday Elijah!!  I was honored to be asked to help make party favors and center pieces for his birthday party.  The theme was animals, so I decided to use my cricut and all time favorite cartridge Create-a-Critter.  What else, right??  Here is what I came up with.  The centerpieces was made out of a recycled baby formula container, which was turned into a bank.  I ended up cutting out an assortment of animals, but here is one of my favorites.
Here are the rest of the critters, all waiting to be attached to the centerpiece.  It was easier for the centerpiece to be assembled at the party, so I had everything piled up and ready to assemble.
We made 100 of these candy wrapper favors in assorted colors.
Thanks to Joy, Joni and Michelle for helping me prep and put together all of these!  It was really hard for me to get back into bulk crafting - haha!  I couldn't have done it without you guys!
This is the card I made for sweet baby Elijah.  It was an extra critter that I cut and just had to use it.  The sentiment is from SU and is a hostess set called Happiest Birthday Wishes.  Also used my Decorative Label punch and 1 3/4" circle punch.  For the water, I used my scallop border punch - all punches by SU.
Here is the inside of the card - sentiment also from Happiest Birthday Wishes.  Hmm, I think this is a new favorite set of mine!
I hope everyone enjoyed the centerpieces and party favors as I wasn't able to attend the birthday party (sorry Kristen!, I really wanted to go)  It's really hard these days for me to go places with Dad.  I never know if he really wants to go even if he says he does but I totally understand that he can't help it.  **sigh**  I hope those of you who have extended invitations to me understand that I have to put Dad first and might not be able to make it.
Thanks for stopping in for a visit today!  More to share soon!

Ice Cream Card

Happy 4th!  Hope you enjoyed the long 4th of July weekend!  It was very busy, but productive for me.  I was able to do a lot of much needed yard work and it the weather was just beautiful for me to be outside.  I even got a little tan from being out in the nice sun (yes, I did use sunscreen!).  My neighbors are the best.  They mow my lawn whenever they do their lawn and this week, Chris even trimmed my bouganvillia bushes because I can't reach the top.  I've been wanting to clean up the front yard because there was such an overgrowth of weeds.  It made our house look like it was abandoned ! LOL!  It took me a couple of hours to clean this area up, with the help of my sister who gave me a hand.  There's still a little more to weed as you can see, but it will be easy since it's so dry and we have sand.  When it is all cleaned up,  I plan to plant some sunflowers here, probably during the week or weekend.
Such a beautiful sunshiney day.  This is the view looking down my driveway.  The mountains are so pretty with the beautiful blue sky.
I was able to clean up the anthurium house in the back yard. I know that it doesn't look like I cleaned up, but I really did.  I took out all of the pots with no plants in it (they all died) and pulled out all of the weeds on the grown. Had to make room for two new hapu'u logs with anthuriums growing wild on it from Wini's neighbor Pearl, who was gonna get rid of them.  I love it, free plants!
On to my card!  Here is the card that I made a week ago with Wini.  It was so hard to get back into the groove to create with paper again.  But I'm loving the new Petite Pennants Builder punch #122361.  I also love that this punch goes with the stamp set called Pennant Parade #122740 wood, #122742 cling.  I used one of the stamps from the set for the cone part of the ice cream.  The top of the ice cream was punched out using the cupcake punch #121807.  We embossed the ice cream with the perfect polka dots embossing folder #117335.  The scallop square was cut out using the Sizzix Scallop Square Duo die #120903 and embossed with the embossing folder called Square Lattice #119976.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the stamp set called Bring on the Cake #121899 wood, #121958 cling.  I embellished the square with basic rhinestones #119246 and pink taffeta ribbon - oops, didn't realize that this color retired - sorry!  Cardstock colors - Kraft and Baja Breeze.
Here's the inside of the card.  This sentiment is a hostess set called Happiest Birthday Wishes which you can earn using hostess dollars.  If you haven't already noticed, SU has changed their hostess program where you earn hostess dollars to spend on hostess sets.  I'm loving these new hostess sets!
I know that this is a long post, but just had to get everything in since I'm not able to post daily for now anyway.  Got to post a couple photos of the Queen.  Thanks to everyone who send me emails asking for photos of Mochiko.  We take tons of them so I have lots to share.   Since she is the new owner of the couch, she is making sure she uses every part of it.  Here she is sitting on the top of the chair and doesn't she look comfortable! My cute brat :)
A mug shot - LOL!
Thanks so much for stopping by today and starting your week with me!  I have more cards to share with you so hopefully, I will have time to work on another post for this week.  Have a great week! Sending all of you big hugs!
