Another Giftcard Holder

Happy December!  I can't believe that I've been away from my blog for that long. Time is just passing too quickly and all I can say is that I've been putting most of my energy into taking care of my Dad and things at home.  Nothing to be alarmed over but I'm feeling like Dad seems to be needing more care lately, hard to explain.  Anyway, so sorry that I didn't get to post the more of the giftcard holders from the class.  This one is my favorite.  It's made with chipboard covered with DSP from the Candy Cane Christmas specialty line (FYI, they are not making any more of this paper, I guess Christmas is almost here).  I used the craft glue to adhere the paper to the chipboard and then used the top note sizzix die to cut out the holder.  The number 25 are quickutz dies because I didn't have any other number dies.  I used the snowflakes from the decorative strip die called Northern Frost.  I love this die!  Added a glitter brad in the center of the snowflake and added a dimensional in between snowflakes.  It looks like bakers twine, but really is a thin yard I bought from a craft store last year.  The hole was punched using my crop-a-dile..
Here's the back of the GCH.  I used elmer's craft bond to adhere the pocket.
For the ladies who ordered a kit to go, HUGE apologies for the delay.  There's been so much on my little plate lately, talk about being overwhelmed! I'm happy to tell you that they are all done and ready to mail!  Don't forget to email me if you need any help with assembling, I think there will be no problem.
I will post the last giftcard holder tomorrow, doing it as a pre-post.  Also in store for you will be a simple money holder with measurements so you can make some for the holidays.
Thank you so much for your patience.  Sorry to say that blogging has been on the bottom of the list of things to do.  I barely have time to look at all of the holiday creativity from your blogs, but will try to peek in later.  My reader must have 2,000 posts waiting for me! eeks!
The holidays are in full swing now and I can't believe that I am behind again - *sigh*...See you tomorrow!

Holiday Craft Sale this weekend!

I can't believe that this week flew by so fast! Here we are at Thursday already!  I've been busy getting my projects together for a craft sale that is happening this weekend.  The short story is that we originally signed up to participate in the annual HGEA Christmas craft fair but they cancelled it.  On a whim, I decided to move the sale to my garage, sort of thinking that the show must go on!  Here's the info on the craft sale

When:  Saturday, November 20, 2010
Where: Manana Street, Waimanalo (please email me for address and/or directions)
Time:   9:30 a.m. til we sell out or give up (smile!)
What we will be selling:  paper crafts (gift tags, post it note holders, gift card holders, note paper holders and more!), handcrafted jewelry by Denise and Reni and possibly silver jewelry, craft supplies, Avon gift sets, beautiful handcrafted cards by Jodi Ann, possibly check book covers and more by Joy, mini christmas trees by Freida and hopefully more!

We will also be having a craft white elephant sale, so you will want to come early for best selection.  Some of the items on sale for you bargain hunters will be gently used rubber stamps, designer papers, beads, misc craft supplies.

We are excited to be celebrating the holiday season with this craft sale.  Please do us a favor and share this information with your friends!  Mahalo and we will see you this weekend!

Thanks for stopping by today.  I will be sharing more of the giftcard holders from the class soon!  If you ordered a kit, I am almost done, working on the Santa Owl pieces, some are kind of tiny!

2010 Gift Card Holder Class Projects

Hello friends!  Glad you were able to make your way over to my new blog.  Before I continue, I would like to give a HUGE shout out to my GF Jen who helped me launch this new blog.  She helped me transfer all of my links, pics, tutorials, etc. over to my new home.  Thanks sister!  Also, thanks to Allison who gave me a tip if I wanted to continue using my old blog, she mentioned that the cost was very minimal to buy more space.  Shucks!, little too late to take that route as we already started this one.  Appreciate the advice! This info may come in handy for others out there who may experience the same trouble I just went through.
Okay, on to the projects!  Thanks to all of you who attended my giftcard holder class this weekend!  I hope you enjoyed the projects this year.  This first GCH was created with the sizzix giftcard holder die that I bought last year but never used (sound familiar??)  I love that cutting the GCH is so simple so that I could spend more time embellishing the cover.  Don't you just love this cute Santa Owl??  This jolly owl was created by the super talented Kay over at Creations on Paper.  She is the creator of many cute, cute critters using the SU owl punch as well as the beautiful rose made out of cardstock.  Please take a visit at Kay's blog, you will be amazed and awed at all of her fab projects.  Thanks Kay for allowing me to borrow this Santa owl!
Here's what the inside of the GCH looks like.  Used the decorative label punch and the santa image from the Jolly Bingo Bits stamp set (holiday mini catalog).

This is another GCH we made using the same Sizzix GCH die.  We stamped Dasher to decorate the front of this holder and punched it out using the 2 1/2" circle punch.  FYI, this punch was having some issues and is not available temporarily.
Here is the inside of the holder.  Used the set called Gifted from the idea book & catalog for the label.  I thought that this reindeer kind of matched Dasher.
Thanks for making your way over to my new blog.  If you were a subscriber on my other blog, you will need to re-sign up on this blog to receive an email from me every time I post to this blog.  Sorry for the inconvenience, but this was one of the things that couldn't transfer over from the old blog.
Thank you so much for your love and support over the last 3 1/2 years of blogging.  I must say that this journey has been a fun one and it's all because of all of you out there!  More GCH projects to be posted soon!
